    Dr. Burke served as the Editor for the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics from 2007-2009. 

    Dr. Burke was selected to attend and completed the Tennessee Regents Academic Leadership Training Institute.  

    Dr. Burke served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology and is a past member of the Performance Enhancment/Intervention committee in Association for Applied Sport Psychology.

    Dr. Burke has been nominated for a university award for scholarship/research.

    In three separate academic years, Dr. Burke was nominated for a university award for teaching.

    Dr. Burke received the college award for teaching. 

    Dr. Burke received the college award for scholarship/research.

    He has presented and published through local, state, regional, national, and international channels.

    Also, Dr. Burke has been nominated for the prestigious "Dorothy V. Harris Young Scholar/Practitioner" award, selected for leadership training, and previously won an award for teaching while in graduate school.
